Classic TheraSpecs combine a timeless look with great protection. This glossy black frame is made out of ultra-lightweight TR-90 to minimize pressure on your face and head. They are a great option for people who do not need full side coverage but still want full protection from the front. Indoor TheraSpecs are great for wearing near artificial light, such as fluorescents and LEDs, and while working on a computer. Some people also like wearing them outdoors on overcast days. Outdoor TheraSpecs are darker, polarized and offer protection for bright sunlight. All TheraSpecs are 100% UVA/UVB (UV400) blocking and use the FL-41 tint. Classic TheraSpecs come with a microfiber carrying bag.
I have noticeable migraines two to three weeks monthly, and dull aches the rest of the days (it's really rare for me to have a day where my head isn't hurting) and I am going on several weeks at this point of issues....nothing has made a significant and sustained dent in the reduction of my headaches. It is, for sure, a multifactorial approach.I am reading a book on 150 ways to reduce migraines, and am trying as much out of that book as possible. One intervention mentioned was glasses that block UV light...I researched quickly and found this company, and ordered on a whim.At this point, since having migraines since 2008, I am pretty skeptical with low expectations that anything will work...so I was really surprised when I put these on the first time, and they fit perfectly and my head felt...a lightness?...that it didn't feel when I didn't have the glasses on.Take them off, the immediate tightness behind my eyes returns....put them back on, it goes away...and so I do this, on off, on off, on off, several times, and yes, in fact, the area behind my eyes and into my eyebrows (the most tender and painful areas for me) feel better.I feel like Jack Nicholson in these glasses, so I think the most getting used to will be ME and hoping people are not looking at me...but in terms of making your head feel better--two thumbs up.I just received these and went online to order the sunglasses. Worth giving everything a try.The front frame is identical to my sunglasses ($30-40) and some other FL-41 glasses that I purchased ($25 for two). The hinges on these are much creakier and seemingly delicate (thinner) than either of those. The temple arms caused pain at the top of my ears (might be due to the fit relative to my ear shape) after a few hours, but I suspect it's partially a design thing since the others with the same front are more comfortable. These might be OK for $20-40 but the mark-up is clearly enormous. They don't even use a custom box like the $35 blue light glasses I bought recently. There's not even an anti-fog coating or something differentiating that might make these worth an extra $50+. You're probably better off getting a pair of fashion glasses that fit well are an a better quality and having them coated for $35 at a local eye store. The personal note is nice, but a product with a value comparable to the price would be better. These do work great on reducing eye strain and headaches, but I wish they came in more size options. They are much too large for my face. I look like a giant insect wearing them because of the size.I work in an office with extremely bright fluorescent lighting. My first few days at this job I didn’t know why I was feeling sick/nauseous and couldn’t maintain concentration. After doing some research I discovered it was because of the fluorescent lighting and the flicker that’s invisible to the naked eye. I also stare at a computer screen for 8 hours a day. These glasses have saved me from eye fatigue and the aforementioned symptoms I was experiencing. Other reviewers mentioned that the frames on these glasses were weak. Not sure what they’re talking about as mine feels incredibly sturdy and they don’t feel cheap. These have been a life saver for me.I've recently started getting more ocular migraines, likely as a result of the at-home work environment. So, I picked these up as they were the only brand with the FL-44 tint that's been shown in the scientific literature to reduce the intensity and duration of migraines. I have only had one migraine since buying these, and it was during a time I wasn't wearing the glasses. Wearing these definitely makes it easier to work at my computer, and now I actually wear them all day around the house, as they are comfortable and I've never been comfortable in brightly lit rooms before now.The only thing to note is this - I find them exceptionally comfortable, but I have a small to average sized head. So, if you've got a wide face or bigger head these might be a little small for you. Overall I'm incredibly happy with this purchase.I have been struggling with a vestibular dysfunction. These glasses have helped with light sensitivity on my bad days. These are AWESOME. I’ve dealt with exhaustion, fatigue, headaches, and blurred vision for years while working at a computer under fluorescent lighting. After buying these my energy levels are BACK! And it is absolutely incredible. My ONLY knock against these? The frames are SO cheap. Like, cheap black plastic which have screws I’ll have to tighten pretty soon already. Clearly all of the money I paid for these went into lens technology, not the frames. Theraspecs, please improve the frames. I could see these breaking within a year...I got my glasses yesterday and brought them to work today. Got another migraine and put these on while waiting for my meds to take effect. As soon as I put them on I immediately felt a difference. The lights were no longer painful and it was much easier to work with my students. Before these glasses, the migraine would just keep getting worse due to the florescent lights until the meds took effect. With the glasses the pain didn't increase and I was better able to function while waiting for the meds to kick in.I definitely recommend these glasses, they are worth every penny. I plan on looking into the outdoor glasses as well.Someone in my support group for balance disorders recommended these. I put off buying them for maybe 3 or so years until Prime Day. They were on sale, much to my happiness and surprise.I find that they help when working on the computer. When I get up away from the computer, I find I am less disoriented than I usually would be. The color difference is a little weird at first but you get used to it quite fast.In addition to these glasses, I use the night light setting on every elecontric device I have, including my pc. I think all this combined has helped to make the glasses work even better for myself.Someone reviewed these as being cheap plastic but I don't think that at all. They actually feel more sturdy than my designer reading glasses. I think they are quite comfy. No ear pain, not super tight. If you have a balance disorder or migraine issues, I recommend this product 100 percent. The little note inside about the positive thought that is put into each pair is a very sweet touch and religious neutral. I loved that little tidbit a lot.I have had multiple concussions in the past few months. I have been suffering for so long with headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, etc. In March I was diagnosed with photophobia caused by my concussions and had developed PCS. All of April I suffered from headaches. I thought that if my symptoms improved as time went on, then my photophobia would go away. I was missing so much work and I was always needing to be in the dark. I couldn't even handle natural or artificial light. I was constantly wearing sunglasses inside but they weren't helping. I was always taking pain meds and they weren't taking away my headaches fully. I was still hiding in the dark. Finally I decided to give these lenses a try. They took a week to arrive but I kid you not....the moment I put on the lenses, my symptoms disappeared. My headaches were gone. I was actually able to function for a whole day and didn't need to hide away in the dark at all! I have been wearing them every day since and I finally feel like I have my quality of life back. After 5 months of living in despair, I felt free! So worth the money! I absolutely love the style and how effective they are. I am now able to return to work full time again! As someone who has suffered chronic headaches and the occasional migraine this was necessary. Recommended by my neurologist it was an awesome purchase and well worth the money. It doesn't stop the headaches but it prevents me from squinting my eyes at the end of every day because of working at a computer screen everyday. My sleeping improved after couple of days wearing glasses. Still time needed (like 2 weeks) to feel overall effectiveness and a great changing in performance as per scientific research base on user's main problem.
