These glasses are marketed as solely for the purpose of blocking “blue light”. A search for that phrase, on the internet, will tell you a lot about how to much blue light can adversely impact your health and your perceptions. Included with them is a good hard case and a cleaning cloth. This dealer has many types of glasses and frames that function as sun glasses or otherwise block harmful light rays. This particular model is clear glass that we are told blocks blue light from the sun and from devices such as video screens and certain light bulbs. I have to take the dealer’s word for that, since I do not have the means to test for the elements of light that make it through the glasses.Although I now need reading glasses to read from a book, and sometimes from my iphone or ipad, I do not need them for most of my digital reading. Thus, it is practical for me to wear these blue light filtering glasses for most of my waking hours. In a couple of weeks, I may come back and supplement this review. For the time being, I can see that the glass is clear, without distortions. These glasses remind me of the type that people wore before glasses became a fashion statement. Thin metal frames, that emphasize the roundness of the glass. The hinges are NOT flexible. These glasses fit me perfectly. No adjustments necessary. I think that is not just luck; I think this kind of frame tends to easily self-adapt to fit most people.Without any optometry knowledge, my impression, from the appearance of these glasses and the lack of a flexible hinge, is that they may break more easily than glasses with plastic fames. – Although I can attest to having accidentally broken the frames of most glasses I ever owned, regardless of construction! The Amazon page for these glasses, has an advertisement for socks from the same manufacturer. The advertisement includes the statement: “You Break ‘EM, We Replace ‘Em, For Life”. See the attached graphic. The price for these non-prescription, non magnification glasses, is about the same as I would pay for prescribed reading glasses. It is a lot more than I would pay for sunglasses and for the many cheap reading glasses that are widely available. In fact they are substantially more expensive than blue light blocking glasses reading glasses that can be found elsewhere on Amazon. IF the replacement for life applies to these glasses, then the increased price is worth it.First things first. These glasses only do one thing: Partial blue light blocking (50%). They don't magnify. They aren't sunglasses. They only reduce blue light. Because they are only partial blue light blockers, they don't even change perceived colors (I checked). You can see blue light reflected off the lenses if you shine light at them. Why would you want blue light blockers? The topic of blue light blocking in glasses is hotly debated. Proponents assert that blue light blockers can help with a variety of issues, such as:* Reduction of headaches* Reduced eyestrain* Better sleep through the increased natural production of melatoninSome studies suggest a correlation between blue light-blocking glasses and some/all of the above. There are, however, many studies that have failed to find a significant correlation. I'd say the jury is out. The one thing everyone probably agrees upon is that even if they don't help, they can't hurt. So a lot of people now use them.Trying out blue light blockers for myself, I can't say I've noticed any big changes. I don't normally have trouble sleeping (even though I'm always on my phone and watching TV before bed). And I don't get headaches in front of the computer or on my phone. So the bar for me to identify functionality is high.I will say that these glasses are easy to use, and don't distort or discolor what I'm watching. So worst case scenario, they do nothing. But the quality lenses aren't adding anything unwanted. These glasses are very comfortable and very light. They weigh in at 0.5oz. You should be able to wear them for hours without a problem. The country of origin is not listed for either the frames or lenses. The frames for another member of this family of William Painter glasses are made in China, so I'd assume these are, too. They do with a "lifetime" warranty, although they charge you $49 to use it, so it's not all it seems. Still, that's a third of what these cost, so if you need to use it, it's a savings. They look good (see photos). On the whole, these are nice and can be worn without affecting what you're looking at. The key question is whether you are sold on partial blue light blocking. In the package:** Reading glasses** Fitted hard case** A couple of William Painter stickers** Cleaning clothPros:** High-quality lenses do not color or distort what you're looking at** Lenses coated to prevent smudges/scratches** 50% blue light blocking means colors look normal** Very comfortable** Very light** Good quality construction** Lifetime warrantyCons:** Relatively expensive** Costs $49 to use warranty replacementFeels nice on my eyes and is lightweight, doesn't hurt the side of my face and makes reading words easier. Not sure about the blue light protection, as the devices we use don't produce enough blue light to actually harm our eyes. Staring at the screen for a long while minimizes the amount of times your eyelids blink. So for glass readers (not magnifying), it works well.I liked these glasses for what work for. It eases the strain on phones and computer screens for your eyes, but for big sized heads like mine, I wouldn’t recommend them. They are stylish though, and are sturdy as well, with thick plastic and sturdy lens placement.Good product overall, just not for larger sized heads. These are definitely my favorite pair of blue light blocking glasses. The fact that they’re so lightweight works really well for me. Since I don’t normally wear glasses, I find that I get tied of wearing other, heavier pairs. I honestly forget I’m wearing these. They’re stylish and appear high quality. You get a nice case and cleaning cloth along with them too.My one complaint is the price. $150 for these is way way too high, especially when you can find similar pairs for far less. It just doesn’t seem reasonable for something that’s not medically necessary. This is an okay blue light eyeglass and it’s comfortable to wear. However, the frame very light-weighted and looks cheap. I kind of feel it’s overpriced considering the cheap frame. Also, the smell of the glasses case is a bit unpleasant.
