I use these anytime I need safety glasses but also as full-time regular sunglasses. I read long ago that dark sunglasses can harm your eyes in the long term by allowing your pupils to dilate in response to the reduced light pressure from straight ahead. The argument is that this allows UV rays from the stray light around the lenses to wreak whatever havoc it will by entering your unprotected pupils. Another argument was that dark lenses don't let your eyes exercise the way they were meant to by contracting and dilating your pupils. So after switching to lighter lenses I felt better about how they worked but still hadn't found the ideal solution. After trying a number of different lens colors and types, it turns out that amber or light yellow lenses work well (*at least for me) in all light conditions. I really like the wraparound lenses on these, they not only block flying debris from the side, but a lot of stray light as well. The yellow lenses are great at the beginning or end of the day, and in rain or sun. In informal testing, I can see more detail on a rainy highway while wearing them than without them. I did take away one star because the lenses scratch pretty easily, but at this price point they are fairly painless to replace, and the scratched ones are fine for jobsites or the workshop. These are nice and economical. The tint seems to help reduce glare and the amber color makes it mild. I usually prefer these to my clear glasses. The yellow tint may enhance some colors but do the opposite for others. They are not to replace sunglasses but I think they are better in bright sun than the clear. Clear glasses still belong in the shop but I will probably use these more often. There may be some slight distortion with any curved plastic (probably more visible because of the tint). I usually have sensitive eyes and they aren't a bother to me.They fit snug but not too tight on my average size head. The nose-piece is very comfortable. The only adjustments available are on the temples. The temples have an unusual up and down angle adjustment. This can cause the lenses to tilt down or up. It may be useful to protect your eyes from hazards coming from above or below.I bought one at Home Depot years ago. While cutting a tree, the branch fell and hit the side of my face--the arm of this Safety Glass broke, but saved my face. Went to Home Depot to get another one, they don't carry it anymore. These glasses are light, not easily scratched, not easy to fog and distortion free. Tried to get a replacement arm but they don't sell replacement parts; I fixed it with JB Weld. I found these on Amazon and ordered another. Have not used yet, will keep as spare. The only one to go with. Most frames are too narrow for my big head. These are OK, but not for extended periods. They are too thick for wearing under ear protection. I bought the Remington T-72 at the same time, and like them a lot better. Other than the tight fit, they have great coverage and light weight.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F7RSFS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I have been involved in many vehicle extrications, as I work in an emergency services field, and I've had my eyes saved by these durable safety glasses numerous times. Great price and they even include ear plugs!I'm on my third pair of these. I use them all the time while working on my vehicle or with tools. I would recommend themVery good, better quality than average, rarely fogs up.
